Language Council sponsors International Internships

Beginning in 2024, with support from the Provost’s Office, the Bucknell Language Council considers applications from first-year, sophomore, or junior students who would like to pursue an internship in a country whose official language is not the same as the applicant’s first language/s.

These competitive grants provide up to $2,000 to support students who wish to undertake an internship, such as a community engagement project, participation in an excavation project, or other work in an archive, school, or lab that may be part of their current academic interests and/or linked to future thesis work.

The grant may be undertaken in connection with a study abroad experience; however, the additional travel and time must be supplementary to any travel or excursions included in an organized study abroad program. The grant cannot be undertaken to complete coursework during a period of study abroad, and it may not be applied to the costs of a study abroad program or any travel in the country that is part of the organized study abroad program.

The funds will be disbursed as a reimbursement for costs associated with the experience with official receipts required.
