The College of Engineering had a combined event last week that was also open to the entire campus. BMES, NSBE and SASE joined together to host our Experience the World event.
We had around 60 people in attendance and students enjoyed a tasting of various international foods along with international snacks and desserts/candy at each table.
Students traveled around the world to various stations to get their passport stamped. The stations included paper Russian nesting dolls, Chinese lanterns, a West African drumming lesson, Mexico’s papel picado, Australian dot painting and finally a crepe station.
If students participated in four of the six stations and got their passport stamped, they would be entered into a drawing for a 7th Street milkshake. We also played Kahoot at the end of the night. This was derived from the information that was displayed at all the stations which showed fun facts about each country.
Finally students also rotated through the tables to complete a bingo card so they got to know other people in the room besides who were at their table. It was a fun event.
