Festival on the Science Quad!
- By Tessa Brizhik, class of 2026
The Festival of International Shorts was held on September 14, 2023. The festival, an annual event hosted by the Bucknell Student Language Council each fall on the Science Quad, showcases films from around the world. The theme of this year’s festival was humanity, with contributions from Germany, Argentina, Malaysia, Egypt, and Italy. The cinema event aims to promote linguistic and cultural learning and appreciation. Many of this year’s films concentrated on human connections and relationships, regardless of the language you speak or the culture in which you are raised. Each year the films change and the audience grows. According to Zach Wasserman, a sophomore who is double majoring in Psychology and Italian Studies, “events like the Film Festival can help bring international perspectives to campus.” Stay tuned for next year’s Festival of International Shorts, planned for September 2024!
